This stunning tweed is available in three beautiful colours. Ali has woven this cloth from Laura’s Loom Shetland ‘Alba’ and Hebridean ‘Tarbet’ single-ply yarns, dyeing them first in a palette of beautifully soft yet vibrant pinks, purples, greens, oranges and yellows. After carefully setting up her loom to create the undulating twill pattern, she wove each length by hand. The result is truly eye-catching and unrepeatable (some of what she said while setting up the entire project is unrepeatable too – but it was well worth the huge effort!)
The cloth has a soft sheen and a lovely drape. Ali has woven just a few metres of each colourway. This fabric is priced by the half-metre, with the price reflecting the provenance of the yarn plus the tremendous amount of work that has gone into dyeing the yarn then weaving it by hand on a traditional wooden handloom.
