British Wool Yarns
I offer a range of British wool yarns in various weights and colours, all produced from wool which I collect annually from a network of farms in the Yorkshire Dales, Cumbria and Scotland. Sheep breeds include our classic mainstay – Bluefaced Leicester – supplemented by Hebridean, Black Welsh Mountain and Wensleydale. My woollen yarns are spun primarily in West Yorkshire; the worsted yarns were spun in Cornwall. I have my yarns dyed in the Scottish Borders.
Most of my yarn is spun as fine singles for fabric weaving, but they have been used successfully by knitters, especially for lace-knitting, and by tapestry weavers. Here is what one happy customer had to say upon receiving her yarn:
“Your yarns are even better than I could imagine! They are gorgeous and so subtle and refined.” Jennifer B.
