British Wool Yarn
I offer a range of British wool yarn, all produced from fleece which I collect annually from a network of farms in the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria, plus one special place in the NW Highlands of Scotland.
Sheep breeds include my classic mainstay – Bluefaced Leicester – supplemented by Hebridean, Black Welsh Mountain, Shetland and Wensleydale. A few other breeds occasionally creep into my stash, including Ryedale, Cheviot, North of England Mule plus the odd flock of Cumbrian alpaca.
My yarn is spun in West Yorkshire and dyed in the Scottish Borders to my own bespoke palette.
Most of the yarn is spun as fine singles for fabric weaving, but it is eminently suitable for fine lace knitting and for tapestry.
After many requests to provide smaller hanks I have decided to sell my yarn in increments of 10g. If you are interested in quantities larger than 2kg contact me directly to discuss availability and prices.
Here is what one happy customer had to say upon receiving her yarn:“Your yarns are even better than I could imagine! They are gorgeous…so subtle and refined.” Jennifer B.
