Creating fabrics by hand is magical. Throwing the shuttle is my favourite activity. Being challenged to produce something new keeps my creativity flowing.
I love to weave scarves and throws, playing with colours and textures and patterns on my 8-shaft Harrisville loom and my 16-shaft Leclerc Weavebird. I weave with my own wool yarns but I also use many other fibres. Silks and and fine wools such as merino and cashmere are particular favourites. I am especially fond of mixing and matching ‘mill ends’ – non-repeatable yarns which can be found from several suppliers in the UK including Yarns to Yearn For in the Scottish Borders. The challenge of using up mill ends can really boost creativity!
I have woven scarves, throws, wraps and baby blankets for many clients over the years, some of whom I have never met but have come to know via email contact alone. You can read about some of my latest creations in my newsletter posts.
If you would like me to weave you something special please get in touch. I start with a free basic consultation and offer an initial sampling service for a small non-refundable fee. If you go ahead with the commission the sampling fee is deducted from the final invoice.
For more information on commissions please use my online enquiry form.
Handwoven scarves and throws will be added to the Shop whenever they are available. Keep checking back for updates and new designs, or sign up to my newsletter for advance notice of new products.
