Originally inspired by a desire to recreate in fabric the bold forms of a drystone wall, I have continued to develop my throws as artistic expressions of the landscape in which I live. The harvest colours of autumn, the stark black and white of a butterfly's wing, the jewelled colours of sunny fields as a stormy sky approaches - these are all reflected in the throws I have made to-date. Others have been created to address a theme, such as Think Pink, or a client's desire, such as Archibald which picked up and magnified in chenille the rich colours of an Indian carpet. I make these throws to commission or as the mood takes me, weaving off long panels which are sewn together to make a throw large enough to adorn a bed or a sofa or even a wall.
