The Howgill Range is now in its third year of production. It was a thrill to see the bluefaced leicester fleece being spun into yarn at Lightowlers in Huddersfield. The woven cloth has now been delivered to the finishers in Galashiels where it will be purled, dyed and steamed to create the soft featherlight blankets synonymous with The Howgill Range. In the meantime, the remaining wool will be dyed at Ettrick Yarn Dyers in Selkirk and will be woven up into a new collection of elegant scarves. This year I am introducing two new colours -- Carbon and Moss -- inspired by the limestone landscapes of Malham and Kirkby Stephen.
I am also taking the plunge this year to produce a new range of blankets using Hebridean wool. Keep your eyes and ears open for more news to come later in the year.
Don't forget to visit the Dentdale Show, August Bank Holiday weekend in Dent. Come along and take a look at my new stuff!
