Laura's Loom handwovens

In 2008 I will be introducing a limited edition of high quality lightweight throws woven on a Victorian-era Dobcross loom from fleece sourced within a 10 mile radius of my Sedbergh home. This is a partnership project between Laura’s Loom, Farfield Mill and a group of very supportive local farmers, with initial funding from the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority’s Sustainable Development Fund and Distinctly Cumbrian.

With these throws I aim to help our visitors better understand what it takes to maintain the landscape of the Dales, as well as giving them an opportunity to take a little bit of it away with them. Come and visit the Howgills and see for yourself what a wonderful place it is!
